Food metabonomics is initiated in IRIT-ARI

 

Food metabonomics is a new research area introduced by the IRIT-ARI in 2005. In the year 2006, IRIT-ARI started practical research projects on the topics. The main task is to apply metabonomic technologies to the food sciences, so that the security and quality of foodstuffs can be guaranteed.

Dr. Xu XuHan, Director of IRIT-ARI, Toulouse, France,  is the first person who established the concept of food metabonomics. Invited by ASICEF WIRT06, he gave an oral presentation "Food metabonomics" in "The First ASICEF Workshop on Interdisciplinary Research Topics" held in Paris, 14 May 2006.
